The Presidential Succession

What is meant by the Presidential Succession, is who would take over in the untimely death of the President.
  • If the President would die, the Vice President would take control of the country.
  • If the Vice President would die, before selecting a new Vice President, then the Speaker of the House would assume control.
  • If the Speaker of the House would also die, then the President Pro Tempore, or the oldest member of the Senate would take over.
  • And if the President Pro Tempore would die, then the members of Cabinet would take over, in the order of their department creation.
This is extremely unlikely because all of these deaths would have to happen in a very short time frame.  For instance, if the President died, then his Vice President would select a new Vice President in a timely fashion, which would make him the new replacement President.  So, getting all the way to members of the Cabinet is extremely unlikely, and will probably never happen.
