Constitutional Requirements For being President

Picture
To become President of the United States, there are a few requirements that you need to meet according to the Constitution of the USA.
These are:
  • You must be at least 35 years old, however, often the President is older than that.
  • You must be a natural born citizen.  In other words, you must either have parents that are citizens, or you must be born on American soil.
  • You must be a resident of the US for at least 14 years.

Other Requirements

There are some other, "unwritten rules" of becoming President.
  • You must be Caucasian.  Other than President Obama, all other presidents have been Caucasian.
  • You must be a male.  History has shown us that all previous presidents have been male.
  • You probably will have to go to an Ivy League  School.  Most Presidents have.
  • You must come from money.  This is true of almost all of the previous Presidents.
  • It would help you to be a Protestant.  This is also a trend that is among previous Presidents.  Not all, but many.
